Facilities available to IIM Calcutta:
- 4 books for 4 weeks, 1 video cassette for 1 week can be borrowed against each
card. Book reservation and renewal services are allowed. - Book reservation services from our library collection and those of our libraries in
New Delhi, Bombay and Madras. Books from these libraries can be made available for our patrons through our inter-library loan services. - Access to the library’s reading room and reference collection. Our fully-automated library has a collection of 20000 American publications, 150 American periodicals and three newspapers. We have Internet connectivity and our CD-ROM full-text databases allow for instant retrieval of magazine articles from hundreds of American periodicals.
- We provide document delivery service from other USIS libraries in India.
- Assistance from trained reference specialists in locating information from print and electronic media. Librarians answer specific queries by telephone, fax, e-mail, letter and in person.
Full time faculty members of IIM Calcutta can borrow such tickets of The American Library from designated person of IIM Calcutta library. Please take note of following rules in this regard:
- IIM Calcutta Library will issue one ticket of the library to a faculty member on receiving written request. Forms for making written request are available with the designated person;
- Each ticket will be issued for a period of one month. Tickets can be re-issued if there is no demand;
- It will be the responsibility of faculty members to abide by the rules and regulations of The American Library;
- Before returning tickets to IIM Calcutta library, the borrower of such tickets must settle all dues/compensations due to late return of/damage to, if any, the books/materials of those libraries;
- IIM Calcutta Library will not take any responsibility to bring books from or return books to The American Library.
