Grammarly is an American cloud-based typing assistant. It reviews spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, engagement, and delivery mistakes in English texts, detects plagiarism, and suggests replacements for the identified errors. It also allows users to customize their style, tone, and context-specific language.
Grammarly was launched in 2009 by Alex Shevchenko, Max Lytvyn, and Dmytro Lider, It’s available as a standalone application for use with desktop programs, a browser extension optimized for Google Docs, and a smartphone keyboard.
Grammarly is developed by Grammarly Inc., with hubs in San Francisco, California, and offices in Kyiv, New York City, Vancouver, and Berlin.
How to Access
1 . Please go to www.grammarly.com/edu/students
- On the landing page please click -CREATE ACCOUNT-
- Once you have the credentials form asking for email ID and Password, please follow the below:
- Use only your institutional email ID (@iimcal.ac.in or @email.iimcal.ac.in)
Please Note: Your @edu credential verification has been activated and an activation email will be sent to the user-s institutional email ID once he/she registers. Users may at times get this in Spam Folder due to mail setting – users are advised to check spam folder in case the link is not received in the INBOX.
Once registered, users will land on the -Grammarly Editor- which is easy to use and can be explored by the user.The MS Word Pluggin can be downloaded from the support page after registration, the same user ID and Password credentials will grant access to use the Plugin to users. Kindly note that the plugin does not work on MAC/IOS devices.
